Queen Room
In the heart of
the Scottish West Highlands, some four miles from the town of
Fort William, this beautifully maintained 19th Century country
house, built in the “castle” style of the Victorian
era, is a must visit when one is in Scotland. The room shown is
aptly named the “Queen Room”, for it was in this very
room that Queen
Victoria is said to have
stayed when she came here over a century ago. Since then, of
course, the room has been updated but it has lost none of its
charm. It is both elegant and spacious and features a large bay
window with a magnificent view of Ben Nevis (the highest mountain
in Great Britain) and of a quiet lake in the foreground. The
hotel’s excellent cuisine, the
room and the scenery are difficult to surpass. |
