Room 6
Set in the hills
overlooking Lake Windermere is Holbeck Ghyll, a popular hotel in
England’s lovely, but touristy, Lake District, where Wordsworth
wrote his poetry and Beatrix Potter her tales of country life.
Room 6 clearly is the best room in the hotel; it is a corner room
with a wall of windows that open on a balcony from which we were
serenaded by song birds as we gazed at the wonderful view of the
lake and the distant mountains (as well as an amazing cluster of
huge rhododendron that, fortunately for us, was in full bloom when
we were there). |
