Room 41

Built in the early 18th Century, confiscated by the Republican Government during the French revolution, and almost destroyed in World War II when pitched battles raged between Allied and German forces on the chateau’s grounds at the time of the Normandy landings, Chateau d’ Audrieu is today a stately and elegant hotel set in the midst of lovely gardens and parklands that are a treat to stoll through after a day of visiting the beaches of Normandy just a short drive from the hotel.

We recommend that you stay in room 41, pictured here, a large junior suite with high, beamed ceilings. Although its view is only of the Chateau’s courtyard enterance, we found it to be preferable to other, smaller rooms at the hotel that look out upon its pastoral grounds.
