Just outside the small Tuscan town
of Castlenuovo Bernadegna, a half hour drive from Siena, is this elegant
villa that offers wonderful Italian cooking in a country setting.
Go for a walk and you will be in the midst of a Chianti vineyard.
Or gather wild flowers in the open fields. Or take the scenic drive
to Montepulciano or Montelcino, ancient hill towns famous for their
wines, which you can sample in one of their wine shops. If
you do go to Villa Arceno stay in Room 104, a large open room (pictured
here) with three enormous French doors opening on a balcony overlooking
the villa’s spacious grounds.
