Rhodes Suite

Located at the head of a secluded valley outside of Christchurch on New Zealand’s South Island is Otahuna Lodge, a meticulously restored Victorian mansion that originally was the home of one of the country’s most distinguished pioneers and is today an elegant and luxurious guest lodge. The Lodge has seven suites, each retaining its 19th century architectural features, offers fine dining in several intimate settings and features spectacular 110 - year old gardens with exotic trees and scenic stretches of lawn and lake.

The finest of the suites is the Rhodes Suite, named for the mansion’s original owner whose bedroom was in this Suite. That bedroom is still magnificent; as the above photo shows, it is a large, open room with its own sitting area in front of a fine Victorian fireplace, and leads through windowed doors to a separate porch-like room that overlooks the garden.
